Baby points in Camden

The best baby-friendly spots

We are proud to be redefining what it means to be baby and child friendly

Baby friendly

Gone are the days when a cramped changing table in the female toilets or a half-portion of an adult meal were sufficient. The savvy parent with some time to spare and pounds to spend deserves, and expects, so much more. We’ve come up with a list of 10 of our favourite Baby Points in the borough of Camden. These businesses may not tick every box, but their ethos and attitude towards parents is key to their success. They are broadly inclusive, forward thinking, open minded, innovative and give parents an environment that allows them to enjoy a time out with their children unapologetically.

So these are our top ten Baby Points in Camden, in no particular order:

1. Strada Camden Town

Strada

The cool Italian charm extends to their approach to kids. Whilst parents can enjoy a tasty meal and perhaps a limoncello or two, the kids can indulge in a starter, main, dessert and drink for £6.50. They also have high chairs, a changing facility and are breast-feeding friendly.

2. Wahaca Kentish Town

Wahaca

A colourful, cosmopolitan, fun restaurant with a great vibe.  An eclectic fusion of smells, sights and sounds that will entertain both parent and child. The food is tasty, and £5.25 gets you a kids meal and drink with a free babyccino (hot milk with a sprinkle of chocolate). It’s got bags of space so no awkward buggy parking restrictions and they have a selection of kids books to enjoy if you ask!

3. Wagamama Camden Town

Wagamma

Simplistic and tasty Japanese cuisine, with robust furniture and a clean comfortable environment. The benches take some getting used to if breastfeeding, as there is no support. They even have two types of high chairs to choose from, a good kids menu starting from £3.50 and an activity sheet with crayons. There is a changing facility in the disabled toilets.

4. The Lion and Unicorn Kentish Town

Lion and Unicorn Kentish Town

A lovely, family-friendly pub with high chairs, a changing facility and kids menu. A lovely newly renovated beer garden and staff that are always eager to help.

5. Las Iguanas The Brunswick Centre

Las Iguanas

Definitely worth a visit! Free, organic baby food and they'll heat your baby bottles if you carry your own brew.  They have a kids menu, changing facility, high chairs and are breast feeding friendly. Also good value for money - a 2 course meal and drink for under 12's is £5.90.

6. Pizza East Kentish Town

Pizza East

Hippy chic, lovingly patient, chilled and great for all. Once you get past the awkward entrance you will be welcomed by the pleasant and helpful staff. The kids menu is basic but the macaroni cheese is life changing! They have high chairs, a changing facility and are breast feeding friendly.

7. Bear and Wolf Cafe Tufnell Park

Bear and Wolf

A trendy child-centric cafe in Tufnell Park. Known for its delicious food, amazing salad dressing, buggy park, play room and babyccinos. The atmosphere is relaxed, uninhibited and a great combination of adult charm and child carefreeness. They are truly born for babies, and sport high chairs, changing facilities, kids menu, playroom and are as friendly as they come. Childless people are regulars too!

8. Pizza Express Belsize Park

Wagamma

Great kids menu, I happily assisted my son with his chocolate fudge cake! High chairs, changing facility and friendly staff. For £6.95 your child will get a starter, main, dessert and a bambinocinno!

9. Nandos Chalk Farm

Nandos

If you’re feeling like some peri peri chicken with your little one, Nandos will definitely help satisfy those cravings. Friendly staff, high chairs, a changing facility and pretty good kids menu. £5.95 will nab you a main, two sides and a drink or dessert.

10. Southern Joes Kentish Town

Southern Joes

Fried Chicken Heaven. If you’re on a diet this may not be the best option for you, but if you’re hungry for some comfort food, this is a pretty good choice, with a couple of healthy options thrown in for good measure. They have space for buggies, high chairs, a kids menu and changing facility. The staff are nice and they’ll happily give you some hot water for your baby’s bottle.
