Creative Writing Workshop for Young People

Led by poet and novelist Claire Collison, this fun and immersive day is designed for 11 - 16 year olds who love to write. You'll be learning how to use objects to narrate, paintings to provoke, and spaces to inspire. With hands-on exercises that can be applied to your own writing ideas, and opportunities to share your work throughout the session, you'll leave fired up and kitted out with tools to develop as a writer.

Whatever type of writing you like to do, everyone is welcome. Places are strictly limited, so early booking is essential. Bring your curiosity, imagination and a packed lunch. Tickets are £15 each and available on our website:

About Claire:

Claire Collison is a published novelist, prize winning poet, and experienced writing facilitator, with a passion for writing in place. Currently artist in residence at the Women's Art Library, Claire has been running Writing the City for over a decade, and was the first Max Reinhardt Literacy Fellow at Kettle's Yard, Cambridge. She has recently been shortlisted in the Resurgence Prize for eco-poetry and The Hippocrates Prize for poetry and medicine.
