There's something for everyone at Burgh House & Hampstead Museum!
Hampstead Museum was founded in 1979 by local historians Christopher and Diana Wade, with loans from Camden Libraries, Hampstead Artists Council and the Heath & Hampstead Society. After launching an appeal for objects from the local community, donations poured in and the collection now consists of approximately 3,000 objects. Hampstead Museum achieved Arts Council Accreditation in 2011.
The museum is housed in the beautiful 1704 Queen Anne mansion house. The permanent collection on the upper floor hold local history, and we have three other exhibition spaces holding both Museum and contemporary art exhitbitions.
