Ancient Meditation Teaching for Modern Times
Managing our mental health and wellbeing
During this unprecedented and uncertain time, it’s important we have the tools to support our mental health and wellbeing. The Mental Health Foundation has advised that the mental health effects of COVID- 19 are a serious concern and points to the need for a response and recovery plan that is multifaceted. Mindfulness meditation is one of their key recommendations.
Meditation and mindfulness skills and knowledge are highly beneficial for both emotional healing and mental wellbeing. An abundance of evidence suggests that meditation plays an important role in relieving stress, insomnia, sleeplessness, anxiety and worry, and can increase happiness, well-being and inner peace.
Even though some lockdown restrictions have gradually been lifted, life has changed irrevocably for the foreseeable future. Having access to meditation classes sooner rather than later will positively affect many people and their mental health. When we are in a healthier place mentally, this impacts on all those around us, hence meditation can benefit all our relationships too.
As many of us now spend more time in our homes, this has created the perfect opportunity to set aside some quality time to practice mindfulness meditation. Martsang Kagyu London Buddhist Centre’s free online guided meditation classes follow an ancient tradition of mindfulness meditation that originates from the Buddha’s teachings. Our classes will provide practitioners with the tools to develop a traditional meditation practice that includes access to qualified meditation teachers. Why not book your free class now!
Our classes are suitable for beginners (Buddhist or non-Buddhist) and those who are more familiar with meditation.
Funding from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund, distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund, has helped us to bring these beneficial ancient meditation skills directly to you online. Our thanks to the Government for making this possible.
