The Knowledge Quarter

Top 30 things in Camden: The Knowledge Quarter

The Knowledge Quarter is consortium of over 50 academic, cultural, research, scientific and media organisations large and small: from the British Library and University of the Arts London to the School of Life, Connected Digital Economy Catapult and Aga Khan University. It is a focal point for one of the greatest knowledge clusters anywhere in the world and this is all located within a one-mile radius of King’s Cross.

As London’s gateway to 55 knowledge organisations, within the space of just a few hundred meters you can find resources from the world's earliest books and manuscripts at The British Library, to the latest fashion and creative designs at Central St Martin's and cutting-edge medical research at The Wellcome Trust.

Made up of member organisations that are all actively engaged in advancing and disseminating knowledge, the Knowledge Quarter brings all of London’s expertise together, promoting an array of activities like festivals, awards and events. As a world-class knowledge and business hub for the 21st century, KQ’s mission is simple: to make the facilities, collections and expertise of their partnering organisations available, understood and widely used.

KQ wants to encourage all kinds of knowledge seekers to make the most of their combined resources. By breaking down barriers, stimulating dialogue and getting the whole of this unique area buzzing with ideas they want to stimulate productive dialogue everywhere – from conference rooms and corridors to coffee shops.
