Welcoming 2020 Loudest Whispers Art Exhibition into a new decade
LW2020 opened at The Conference Centre in St Pancras Hospital on Friday 8/2/20 and soon after became an exhibition in quarantine due to COVID 19. The exhibition remains in the gallery until further notice and serves now as a timely display of LGBT + creativity within Camden.
Camden and Islington’s vibrant LGBT+ community is out in force for the 11th anniversary celebration of one of the UK’s most colorful art exhibitions celebrating this year’s virtual PRIDE celebration.
The theme of this year’s ‘Loudest Whispers’ art exhibition, hosted by Camden and Islington NHS Trust at St Pancras Hospital, is 'Poetry, Prose and Plays'.
The Camden Mayor, along with the Mayor of Islington was a VIP guest at the opening evening event which launched forum+ nationwide LGBT+ History Month. The Arts Project’s Loudest Whispers exhibition has exploded in popularity since its launch a decade ago, andis now a firm fixture on the north London arts calendar, attracting appreciative audiences from across the capital.
It is a chance for LGBT+ artists – both established and outsider self-taught - to showcase their work, exploring themes such as identity and life-changing experiences. The Mayor of Camden, officially opened the event at 7pm before a cabaret performance in the main Conference Centre. The entertainment A MIDWINTER NIGHT’S DREAM was hosted byXnthony with guest’s including pianist Mark T Cox and provided songs and comedy on Shakespearean themes of love , life and tragedy.
