Immerse yourself in the sounds of the Silk Roads, surrounded by objects from the Indian Sub-Continent, China and the Middle East.

Taking place across the Museum, performances will include: Sogdian melodies, which were heard in China's Tang court; South Asian and Afghan instruments like the stringed lute, rubab and sarod; Maqam-based music from Turkey and East Turkestan; tar and setar (also stringed), along with Iranian classical dastgah and tombak (a type of drum).

Lose yourself in this evocative soundscape and enjoy a richer appreciation of the objects from the world of the Silk Roads.
